• Speed and House: intense
• Aggressive tonality with rave sounds
• Screeching and vigorous drop
Occasionally, I like to veer off towards fast paced works, and for better: they are a great way to energise your mood. Few artists have managed to intrigue me, a prominent name being Haus of Panda. Pioneering in the breakneck variant of House music, self-claiming itself as “Speed House”, the invigorating and modernistic derivative involving quintessential 90s rave sounds (Gabber, Hardcore, etc.) has been making major rounds. “Reload”, the latest offering from the former and an uprising act Swage, bases itself on this vicious arrangements to kickstart a party!
A bit about both the artists: Haus of Panda left a strong impression on me, thanks to his various creations that were published on Tommie Sunshine’s imprint Brooklyn Fire. Since then, he has also shared efforts with the American veteran on “The Power”, which got unveiled in Musical Freedom the previous year.
Hailing from the epicentre of music in west coast of states, talented LA denizen Swage has displayed continued passion towards the glitching and bass-heavier spectrum, ranging from Dubstep to Breaks. He has also happened to work with the reputed EPHWURD on “Hectic”, an aggressive club performer with the grit.
“Reload” stomps in with flurrying patterns kicks and percussion, making its obvious intention of creating a commotion clear. With a vocal snippet uttering the title in a dramatic sequence, the breakdown ushers in a combination of squelching acid riffs and laser FXs. With this, the drop bursts in with wobble lead synths, abating just so briefly to provide throwback with a notorious and vintage hoover synth. Coming together of these elements prove lethal, however the duration could extend perhaps more than at least three minutes.
If you were in search for a fresh beat to head-bop to enthusiastically, “Reload” has the requisites to grab your attention. Great addition to Haus Of Panda’s Speed House Movement label, hopefully there are more such bangers in its future!
