Hot Chip announces a new album and music video with a twist

They’re the headline act with a setlist full of dance inducing hits. English electronic music pioneers Hot Chip are back with a brand spankin’ new album dubbed ‘A Bath Full of Ecstasy’ and I tell you what, we’re not upset about it!

This new album is the first body of work since their 2015 ‘Why Make Sense’ LP that most famously included ‘Huarache Nights’ and the more dark and brooding ‘Need You Now’. If we are to take a moment for nostalgia, let’s not forget older hits including ‘Boy From School’ (ah the sentimental tone of this song is bliss) and of course ‘Over & Over’ which isn’t unusual to hear in the least expected of moments.

Keeping in line with the style of their left of centre electronic style they’re famous for, Hot Chip have coupled the LP announcement with the release of the music video for ‘Hungry Child’. The track delivers that signature pop rhythms and unmistakable voice of lead singer, Alexis Taylor. The music video follows their ongoing theme of subtle observational humour, mixed with an underlying often simple message about the sometimes stupid nature of being a human. The actors in the video might be familiar with Silicon Valley star Gilfoyle featuring as one of the main characters. Bless!
