i_o releases 'Alchemy' remake
Both Anjunabeats and mau5trap fans have received some Group Therapy courtesy of i_o. The rising talent has, at long last, released his remix of Above & Beyond’s “Alchemy.” He’d been rinsing his take on the original for months, which led to it becoming one of the most requested IDs in his sets.
I_o highlights the poignancy of the original “Alchemy,” setting Zoë Johnston’s vocals in a driving, tech-based foundation and playing up the original’s central progressions. He crafts a breakdown that’s plenty cinematic, with sentimental, sweeping sting accents and twinkling synths that pair well with the “Alchemy’s” signature stark piano notes. It seems the public approves, based off the positive fan reactions to the interpretation being dropped during i_o’s EDC Las Vegas set.
