Jon Sa Trinxa has announced the end of DJ sessions at Sa Trinxa, the emblematic beach bar on Ibiza’s Las Salinas. The news, shared via social media on Tuesday, June 17th, has sent shockwaves through the electronic music community, marking the end of an era that defined the island’s laid-back spirit and sonic identity.

A key figure in the global Balearic movement, Jon Sa Trinxa is renowned for his eclectic selections, ranging from disco and house to downtempo, ambient, indie dance, and beyond. His residency at Sa Trinxa, which spanned from 1993 to 2019, stands as the longest in Ibiza’s history. For over two decades, the beach bar became a cultural sanctuary where Jon sculpted soundscapes that captured the essence of island life.

The announcement has stirred heartfelt responses from fans and peers alike, many mourning the loss of a ritual that was more than just music—it was a way of life on the island.
