Iconic Technics turntable inspires latest watch design

Design pays tribute to the Technics SL-1200.

Designer Yu Ando has taken inspiration from the legendary Technics SL-1200 turntable to create the Vinyl Record Automatic Watch, offered under the brand AndoAndoAndo. The item’s face includes a miniature vinyl record, tone arm, and rotating discs representing the hour, minute, and seconds.

This ultra-thin Miyota 9039-powered timepiece provides a 42-hour reserve between windings. True to the turntable’s style, no number labels appear on the face. Instead, a dotted ring around the platter shows the current time, while the smaller disc tracks seconds.

AndoAndoAndo is making three versions of the watch available for preorder, with shipping expected as early as April 2025. The first two models, featuring a blend of red, black, silver, or gold details, are priced at US$ 438. A limited edition gold variant, restricted to 30 units, is already sold out.
