Idris Elba's 'On Life' receives Jack Back remix

Idris Elba‘s latest single, “On Life” has received a fresh rinsing by David Guetta, his tech house oriented Jack Back alias. Where Elba puts forth a deeper, heads-down mix, Guetta adds a bit more melody to the mix with twinkling synth arpeggios while maintaining the overall structural integrity. One might argue the French producer may be taking cues from artists aligning with the Diynamic/Afterlife sound in current days. Both renditions make for pleasurable additions to the dancefloor, and can be found on Elba’s 7Wallace imprint.

David Guetta’s had a notable year of releases; over the summer of 2019, he and MORTEN had been tapped as official remixers for Avcii’s “Heaven.” Prior to that, he and the aforementioned collaborator paired on their crossover, Aloe Bacc-assisted hit, “Heaven.” Meanwhile, Idris found himself headlining Coachella’s Yuma tent and increasing his DJ profile with gigs at various elrow stops, Creamfields, and beyond. He also took up a residency at David Guetta’s F*** ME I’M FAMOUS! night at Hï Ibiza, making their recent 7Wallace collaboration feel like a natural next step in their relationship.
