Illegal UK Rave In Abandoned Bank Vault Busted By Police

In London, a vacant bank was popping out tunes as the police entered to find an illegal rave going in full motion inside the bank’s vault. Some might think that a bank vault is the safest place on earth, but not for these party-goers.

Forty-four people were arrested over the incident, which took place at 8 AM local time last weekend. Forty out of the forty-four face a hefty fine of 800 pounds, the current penalty for attending illegal gatherings during the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions. The police officers have not detected the organizer, but that individual could face an even heftier penalty of up to 10,000 pounds for being the head representative of such an event.

Detective Chief Inspector Thomas Bowen said, “It is disappointing some selfish people still insist on breaking Covid regulations.” He continued, “We are all excited about the prospect of returning to normal in June – and some changes to restrictions are imminent – but behavior like this risks undermining the road map out of lockdown and could potential cause further delays by creating a breeding ground for the virus.”

During the UK’s lockdown period, various unauthorized raves continue to ravage the scene. Recently, the Home Office published a PSA video condemning rave goers due to great concern that they further spread the virus. According to The New York Times, the UK has the highest Covid-19 death percentage in all of Europe, with 125,516 deaths at the time of this article’s writing.
