Since his debut in 2006, Pax Japonica Groove has already released more than 15 albums and 18 singles and has built his brand as a house and dance maestro who struck the No.1 place on iTunes Japan dance charts, and is regularly featured on top EDM Spotify official playlists. We had a chat with Pax Japonica Groove, and we asked about the new releases, and future plan, enjoy!
Can you tell us who stands behind Pax Japonica Groove?
Yes, this project is by Shuhei Kurosaka(it’s me). And I’m also a songwriter and run a indie label ” Office Premotion.”
How would you define your music?
It was named after “Peace from Japan”. So I think its Japanese harmonious spirit and melody characterize my music with my beautiful piano-featured sound.
What does inspire you in creating your sound?
I am a full time musician, and it is a daily activity. There is no particular reason.
On the other hand, this is why I want not to lose the sensibility to be moved every day.
Will you tell us a little bit about your new single “Untouchable”?
This song is the very start of the learning process for creating electric music/EDM in earnest. I did a lot of trial and error to make this song. Mixing/mastering has been redone many times. I learned that both music and life are “less is more” as a result.
Do you plan any collaboration in the future?
Collaboration is very important. Not yet at this point but I will definitely who.
Who are your favorite musicians? Who do you look at as a role model?
I don’t sing myself, so I have a longing for that. I envy the style of The Chainsmokers singing by themselves. Also, I like ARIZONA very much as a band.
Any upcoming projects or releases we should know about?
I will drop the album “Wired Future” on 8th April and the great music video soon.
Can we hear you live? Do you plan any tour?
Yes, I will live in July unless it’s affected by the coronavirus… And I want to go to the USA to live there!
Would you like to add something?
I want you to be interested in PAX JAPONICA GROOVE first. And when I get a response, I respond to everything and it’s my primary motivation to make music.
