Jamie XX does Essential Mix including unreleased music
Off the back of his first release in god knows how long, Jamie xx is keeping fans and the world in isolation happy with a return to BBC’s famous essential mix.
Jamie expressed how much time he invested in the mix taking to Instagram quoting, ‘I spent the last two weeks trying to finish music so that it could be in here’. A picture of him lying in the grass accompanying it looks like his true expression of relief.
On the symbolism of doing the mix, the English musician said;
“The Essential Mix has always been an important one for me, been listening to it since before I was allowed to go to clubs. I spent the last two weeks trying to finish music so that it could be in here. Had a lot of fun! I hope you enjoy and can dance around your houses to it, and with friends online.”
The set itself is upbeat, fast and fun with plenty of UK house influence.
