Acclaimed Dutch producer Joris Voorn has released his fifth studio album, ‘Serotonin’, via his own Spectrum imprint in collaboration with Armada Music.
Spanning 14 tracks, ‘Serotonin’ was written over several years across studios, tour stops, and Voorn’s childhood home in the Netherlands. The record captures a period of deep emotional transition, reflecting a renewed sense of joy and purpose through a warm, melodic sonic palette.
The album features collaborations with Goodboys (‘Utopia’), Tom Walker (‘Burn’), YOTTO and White Lies (‘Seventeen’), and Nathan Nicholson (‘You & I’). With its blend of ambient textures, melodic house, and immersive techno, ‘Serotonin’ represents a cohesive portrait of Voorn’s evolving artistry.
Much of the album took shape following the loss of Voorn’s parents. During a final visit to his family home in 2024, he recorded the opening track ‘Session One’ on the same piano once played by his father, composer Joop Voorn.
“That time was raw and emotional,” Voorn explains. “I reconnected with the piano I grew up playing, which shaped the soul of this album. Despite the circumstances, the music that came out was instinctively joyful.”
To celebrate the release, Voorn recently performed a sold-out show at The Shard in London and continues his global album tour. Tour dates available here.
