Kaskade lends his name to his old band, Late Night Alumni on 'One Track Mind'
One thing a lot of people may not know about Ryan Raddon—known globally as Kaskade—is that he is a founding member of the house music band Late Night Alumni (LNA).
As Raddon became an international superstar under his Kaskade moniker, he consistently made time to return to LNA over the years. In the time since his formal departure from the group, he’s still opted to work with them on a number of studio productions, most recently on “One Track Mind,” a cut from their latest album, Silver.
Other than Raddon, mainstays of the group are Finn Bjarnson, John Hancock, and Becky Jean Williams with Williams lending her dulcet voice to LNA’s tracks since day one. As she and Raddon have been close for nigh on 15 years, their chemistry as musicians is palpable in the best way possible.
“One Track Mind” evokes the sonic images of Raddon’s renowned Redux productions with an extra dose of millennial funk. While the theme may be commonplace (it’s just another song about a lovers’ quarrel), the combination of Raddon’s inlaid grooves and Williams’ heartfelt delivery keeps the listener engaged.
Silver is out now on Raddon’s Arkade imprint.
