Kaskade releases 'Redux 003 (Deluxe)' giving fans 5 new tracks
Back in May, Kaskade released the third edition of his Redux EP series, which clocked in at a staggering 18 tracks. Somewhere along the way, though, it seems like the progressive house pioneer deemed that 18 originals just wasn’t enough, and opted to bulk Redux 003 up with just a few more takes. No complaints here. Redux 003 (Deluxe) brings a total of five new jams to the party, with a handful of completely fresh Kaskade productions and a couple of indelible remixes of favorites from Redux past.
Stood out among the new licks is “Still Waiting,” the only track of the lot that’s produced solely by Kaskade himself, and one that still bears the California-based producer’s heartfelt audible signature while straying a bit from the lush house sound that he’s most known for. Soft pads create an instant dream state for a bassline that percolates and ticks along a chopped chillstep beat, all of which simply set the stage for a classic Kaskade vocal track that’s as vulnerable as it is beautiful. The second brand new original on the release is the equally atmospheric and objectively more aggressive “Lose Control,” a soulful peak-hour bomb produced in collaboration with BROHUG. Also included is the very recently released joint with TELYKast, “No One Else.”
The remixes on the updated Redux 003 include LöKii’s turbo-bass rendition of “Ruckus,” that craftily preserves the electroclash vibes of the original and Diplo’s remix of “More,” with a bassline so deep that it’s almost guttural.
Redux 003 (Deluxe) is out now on Arkade Records.
