Kelela sings over Aphex Twin and more in new Warp NTS mix

In a mystifying new mix from Warp Records, DC native Kelela takes the form of spirit guide through a near hour-long journey of an abstract and ambient collection of music.

Kelela sings deliciously over tracks from the likes of Aphex Twin, Visible Cloaks, Oneohtrix Point Never, and more. The mix is hypnotizing, as words and musical transitions are left undiscerned. According to the singer, ‘AQUAPHORIA’ was arranged mostly in solitude, with remote online collaboration from the artists featured on the mix. The result of her labor is melt-worthy.

As it was created, ‘AQUAPHORIA’ begs to be experienced internally, perhaps on a rainy day or over a cotton candy sunset. Kelela’s voice envelopes the senses, as do the carefully selected talents and tracks that carry her.
