Skrillex continues his regular co-production work on Kelsey Lu’s new launch, “Due West,” accompanied by a music video with visually gorgeous artwork path and effervescent landscapes. Lu’s voice drifts alongside cello chords and plush keys whereas Skrillex’s potent kicks add a drive and groove to the track’s flowing and intertwining melodies.
Kelsey Lu is a North Carolina-raised, classically educated cellist whose labored with the likes of Blood Orange, Oneohtrix Point Never, Kelela, and Solange. The music video was directed by Cara Stricker and Mindy Le Brock, and showcase an especially stylized undertaking that properly contrasts the audio with gripping visuals. The lyrics talk about a steady evolution of self and one’s residence, whereas the visuals depict a state of ever-flowing journey and progress. “Due West” is obtainable now Columbia Records, and follows the OWSLA label-head’s lately co-produced “Connect” by Elohim, launched his LA-based label.
