Kygo taps Norwegian rappers Store P and Lars Vaular for 'Kem Kan Eg Ringe'
Norway’s own Kygo—real name Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll— just released “Kem Kan Eg Ringe,” his first single sung in his native language of Norwegian. The song features two fellow Norwegian rappers, Store P and Lars Vaular, to give the track even more authenticity.
“Kem Kan Eg Ringe” represents both new and familiar sonic territory for Gørvell-Dahll. His signature sound is built around slower tempos, and this track shares that quality, but it also departs from the tropical-house flavor that gave him his notoriety for a pure, piano-driven feel. This more raw approach is the ideal backdrop for the vocals of Store P and Lars Vaular, whose sound is heartfelt and honest.
The first half of 2019 has been rather solid for Gørvell-Dahll. In addition to this latest single, his previous track, “Carry On,” was featured on the original soundtrack for the major motion picture “Pokémon Detective Pikachu.” Prior to that release was his single “Think About You” with Valerie Broussard and an official remix of last year’s hit “Happy Now” from R3hab.
