Laura Bettinson, also known as lau.ra or FEMME collaborated with the NewZelanded rapper, JessB on the latest track “Don’t Waste My Time.”
The track is dance-driven, full of hypnotic experimental sounds and lyrical flows creating a superb mix of bass, rap, and UKG.
“Don’t Waste My Time” was dropped on February 11, under the “Need Want” label. It was produced by Flo Wilson, lau.ra and composed by JessB, lau.ra, Hinenui-Terangi Tairua and Flo Wilson.
lau.ra talked in detail about producing the single saying:
“I made this a while back with Jess B, Flo Wilson, and Angel Tairua in one afternoon while on a very brief trip to Aukland, NZ. Sometimes tracks come together so quickly the process of making them becomes a blur and that’s certainly true for this tune. When I’m producing music my main focus is always on capturing energy and personality that will carry the whole tune, in this case, Jess B delivered a stellar performance in one take that gelled so well with the UKG/bass-inspired basics that I already had on the go. The energy in the room was right that day and this tune just spilled out of us from start to finish. We certainly didn’t waste any time making it.”
It is safe to say that lau.ra and JessB’s pairing resulted in the creation of this epic hit which makes you want to get up and dance. The single will surely reshape contemporary electronic music.
