People of the Light presents the ‘Perpetual Gruv’ EP, marking the debut of Marcus Watkins on the label. The release sees the imprint reaffirming its deep house roots with a full-bodied 7-track collection.

Hailing from Chicago’s storied dance music lineage, Watkins delivers three original cuts in ‘Club Detroit’, ‘Soul Revival’, and ‘When I Fly Towards You’. Each track pulses with a blend of warm chords, hypnotic basslines, and soul-infused keys, offering a contemporary take that honors the genre’s pioneers.

The remix selection continues People of the Light’s tradition of curating thoughtful reworks. Myles Sergé contributes a stripped-down, darker reimagining of ‘Soul Revival’ with his ‘Naked Parts Remix’, while label boss Jay Hill reshapes ‘Club Detroit’ into her D’Lite version — an extended, late-night groove featuring her signature chunky aesthetic.
