Lollapalooza to stream performances from across its 20-year history

One of the few positive things to come from the COVID-19 pandemic is the steady rise in streaming bility. Certainly, a live stream of a DJ set does not compare to being present, but there are also certain capabilities streaming reserves.

One such example is traveling into the past, which is exactly what Lollapalooza will do with its “Lolla From The Vault” series. Across a 20-year history, the path-carving Chicago festival has hundreds of performances recorded and ready to display.

Until self-isolation ends, festival organizers will broadcast two sets per week and started with The Strokes’ 2010 performance and Alesso’s 2019 set on April 30. There is no indication as to which sets will follow, but Lollapalooza has hosted performances from some of the world’s best, including Elton John, Paul McCartney, Metallica, and more.

Each stream will benefit Live Nation‘s new initiative, CrewNation, founded to benefit the thousands of live-event workers who have been affected by the pandemic.
