M.O.N.R.O.E. launches monthly release series with ‘8 Million Stories from the Quest’
Paying tribute to his ’90s hip-hop roots.
Jordan Postrel, also known as m.O.N.R.O.E., has launched a monthly Bandcamp series with ‘8 Million Stories from the Quest… (Original Mix).’
The original track taps into the artist’s ’90s hip-hop background, blending that classic spirit with a streamlined house groove. It stays smooth, deep, and a little laid-back, highlighted by trumpet flourishes, a subtle arpeggio, and vocals from A Tribe Called Quest’s ‘8 Million Stories.’ This first release sets the pace for what’s coming in the months ahead.
m.O.N.R.O.E. also recently debuted a new mix on the EG Podcast, now streaming on EG’s SoundCloud and Mixcloud. Known for his stripped-back approach to house, he first drew attention with releases on Steve Lawler’s VIVa MUSiC, followed by work on Robsoul Recordings, DISTRIKT Sound, Saved Records, and The Martinez Brothers’ Cuttin’ Headz.
