Malaa experiments with mid-tempo bass for his JACKNIFE collaboration, 'Revolt'
While the first half of 2019 has remained relatively quiet for Malaa, the masked Frenchman is aiming to share more of his consistently exceptional studio creations as summer draws closer. Following his delectable house record on Tchami’s CONFESSION imprint, “Addiction,” the veteran beat maker is evolving his identity once more for a collaboration with Aussie producer JACKNIFE. After initially teasing the production during his Ultra Music Festival closing performance, Malaa unveiled the duo’s output, ‘Revolt’ on DJ Snake’s Premiere Classe label.
“Revolt” is groomed for the club environment as Malaa and JACKNIFE etch both of their dark, gritty signatures into the single. The collaboration elicits all of the impressions from Malaa’s distinct house touch but the track’s BPM is reduced for an invigorating mid-tempo bass drop that is flooded with grungy synths cut up by haunting hip-hop vocals.
“Revolt” is officially out now on DJ Snake’s Premiere Classe.
