The drum & bass scene has united behind MC Benjamin Mount, known professionally as Ben Verse, in his battle against acute leukemia. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched by Mount’s family to cover essential expenses during his treatment.

The respected London-based artist began experiencing symptoms in August 2024 and was initially hospitalized for suspected tuberculosis. Further tests revealed acute monoblastic leukemia (AML-M5a), leading to immediate chemotherapy. The campaign seeks to fund specialized nursing care, childcare support, and mobility assistance.

After emerging from two months of intensive treatment, Mount was deeply touched by the outpouring of support messages. While his path to rehabilitation will be lengthy, the fundraiser emphasizes that community support is crucial.

Youngsta and Cimm have released a benefit single titled ‘Recovery’ featuring Mount’s vocals. This track launches a series of planned musical releases to support the veteran MC.

Mount has left an indelible mark on drum & bass, serving as Pendulum’s MC from 2006–2017 and collaborating with SP:MC and dBridge.
