Melbourne set to land a huge new warehouse party venue
Might not need to head to Berlin to wait in a line at Berghain after all with the exciting news that Melbourne is set to get another warehouse space to party in.
Dance music promoters Novel have set up an events space in to be dubbed Thornbury Social Club and it’s a blast from the past. With the remnants of it’s past as an abandoned sports complex, the space offers a multi room space, including squash courts and extravagant ballroom for where we imagine the headliner will be.
On the new venue, Novel director Daniel Teuma explains;
‘A big appeal with this new venue lies in the possibilities that exist in configuring the rooms and overall space into a musical and exploratory adventure. The venues’ late liquor license is also a feature very rarely found in large venues, and it allows the events to continue till 5AM. We will be transforming this unutilized space into a tech-fuelled wonderland, and we’re investing heavily in production and infrastructure to ensure the best possible customer experience.’
Having road tested a few events there now, Novel have detailed next events are scheduled for September and December with big name artists set to be announced! In the meantime, enjoy the preview of the venue below.
