German DJ and producer, Michael Mayer, has unveiled his latest mix, EG.990, starting the countdown to the series’ 1000th episode. The session is now available on the Electronic Groove Soundcloud and Mixcloud platforms.

This eclectic compilation features a variety of talented artists including Lucie Antune, Panthera Krause, Radio Slave, Hardt Antoine, Wallace, Dinky, Small Car NRG, Orlando Voorn, Paranoid London, Sepehr, Michael Mayer, Energy 52, Gui Boratto, Darren Emerson, Fantastic Twins, 9OASES, Lorenzo Dada, and Luciano Michelini.

Mayer describes the mix as a reflection of his current musical tastes and the future direction of his record label, Kompakt. He balances light, summery tracks with a few edgier pieces, offering a dynamic musical spectrum.

From the scenic Black Forest in Germany, Mayer’s early love for dance music led him to the heart of electronic music. In the early 90s, he moved to Cologne, where he co-founded Kompakt with Wolfgang Voigt and Jürgen Paape. This label is now synonymous with innovative electronic music and a hub for creativity. You can read our Label Of The Month feature with Kompakt here.

Mayer’s DJ skills have earned him international recognition. His debut album, ‘Touch’, was praised for its refined techno. His following albums, ‘Mantasy’ and ‘&’, which included collaborations with artists like Joe Goddard and Miss Kittin, solidified his status as a top producer. He has performed at leading clubs and festivals worldwide.

As we near EG1K, we’re excited to feature Michael Mayer on our 990th podcast, emphasizing his continuing influence on the electronic music scene.
