Mochakk makes Ninja Tune debut with ‘From the Stars’

Featuring a reinterpretation of The Rah Band’s classic.

Brazilian DJ and producer Pedro Maia, better known as Mochakk, has unveiled his debut EP ‘From the Stars’ on the UK label Ninja Tune.

The EP’s title track offers a fresh take on the Rah Band’s ‘Messages from the Stars,’ blending ethereal female vocals with disco-influenced house beats. Its companion track ‘Maria,’  delivers an introspective experience through minimalist vocals and synth progressions.

Reflecting on this milestone release, Mochakk shares, “It’s completely bananas to release on Ninja Tune. It’s one of those stamp-of-approval moments. It’s such a respected label where so many great albums and singles were released from artists I’ve listened to for years. It feels unreal. I really enjoyed that they chose two very different tracks for that EP.”
