Nicole Moudaber remixes Christian Löffler's 'Ry'
In April, ethereal soundscape extraordinaire Christian Löffler released his richly textured, yet subdued Graal (Prologue). The record’s club-ready counterparts have officially begun trickling in, with Nicole Moudaber becoming one of the first to take on remixing duties.
The revered underground talent took on “Ry,” adding a headier edge to the mix with a pitched-up tempo and harder kicks. Much of the original’s trancey, blissfully melodic elements remain—though in this case they’re balanced nicely with subtle acid notes and a weighty low-end that makes Moudaber’s remix peak time friendly. That being said, she didn’t push the tune into big room techno territory, instead taking a more nuanced approach that fits in better with Löffler’s softer ethos. This careful maintenance of “Ry’s” softer, emotive aspects makes is appreciated.
