Ozuna and DJ Snake team up on classic R&B sample, recruit Diddy for guest verse
Ozuna released his third LP, Nibiru, featuring the likes of Snoop Dogg, Anuel AA, Swae Lee, Nicky Jam, and a track with Diddy produced by DJ Snake that samples Diddy’s 2002 smash hit, “I Need a Girl (Pt. 2).” Ozuna’s interpolation, dubbed “Eres Top” opens with that memorizing riff from Sean Combs “I Need A Girl” prequel and dives into the DJ Snake-produced soca beat with fluttering riffs and dissident vocals for effect.
The song is about a girl Ozuna met at the club, while on Diddy’s guest verse, he enters with a reference to the original track and sequel, “Gave her the game but she still left me with the pain / I guess I need a girl again.” In its heyday, “I Need a Girl (Pt. 2)” reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, so it was quite an ambitious undertaking from the Carte Blanche producer.
Ozuna and DJ Snake have now collaborated several times this year, Ozuna was a feature on DJ Snake’s smash hit “Taki Taki” alongside Cardi B and Selena Gomez.
