Pikes Ibiza has implemented a comprehensive ban on phones from its dancefloor. Initially sparking controversy, this decision is now being hailed as a positive shift in how partygoers engage with music and each other in the iconic party destination.

The policy, which began as a trial run for Monday night events in April, has proven so successful that the venue is now extending it to every night of the week. Upon entering the place, staff place a sticker over visitors’ phone cameras and actively enforce the rule throughout the night.

Explaining the rationale behind this decision, Pikes stated on their Instagram, “Keeping your phone in your pocket and your mind on the music — and knowing that everyone around you is doing the same — opens up a whole world of freedom, not only on the dancefloor but all around Pikes, and so, we’ve decided to introduce the policy seven nights a week.”

Other Ibiza clubs are adopting similar no-phone policies for select events. This trend is spreading globally, with venues like Nowadays in New York and fabric in London also implementing such rules, signaling a shift towards more immersive nightlife experiences.
