In the never-ending war on drugs, police have discovered a new forensic method to test for cocaine through an individual’s fingerprint.
This method, developed by scientists from the UK and Netherlands, involves using a particular type paper that is able to detect chemicals within sweat that are created when they metabolize cocaine.
Cocaine is one the most popular party drugs for raves but can also be one the most dangerous. Like MDMA, no one can certainly know its contents or strength without a drug testing kit.
According to researchers, this new test is reportedly 99% accurate, and there’s no escaping it – washing your hands will not make a difference.
Dr. Melanie Bailey Surrey University explained the importance this test, as well as where she sees it progressing:
If this new method proves to be reliable, it should be a major step forward for law enforcement and also the safety people at events like raves and festivals.
