Premiere: Pat Carroll channels Bonobo on new track ‘Plateau’

After turning heads with his Conditions EP in August of 2018, Sydney producer Pat Carroll returns with his first offering of the new year, ‘Plateau’.

This soothing electronic cut channels similar soundscapes to that of Bonobo or Max Cooper, building off a unique vocal loop that hums amidst some captivating layers of production.

Detailing the make-up of the track, Pat says “most of the percussion and fx are made from recording the master channel or entire groups of instruments, and heavily processing them to create new material. This then gets re-recorded with more processing, and so on.

It means that at a certain point in the compositional process, the piece starts to grow from and out of itself. No new samples are used – its all contained with the sounds that have been used up to that point.”

Listen to ‘Plateau’ below and be sure to keep eyes fixed on this guy moving forward.
