Premiere: Sinca dons groovy 60-minute OSHEAGA Festival daytime set

For their 17th edition, OSHEAGA Festival has once again succeeded with another momentous event. In a city where summer is embraced like no other, Montréal opened its arms to over 147,000 attendees from August 2 – 4 for three days of wonder. Through the lens of OSHEAGA Festival, festival goers from across the world got to experience Montréal’s finest music and arts culture in one place.

Among the 90 exceptional acts that graced the festival stages, Montréal’s local talent shined the brightest, exposing attendees to the vibrant and talented artist pool the city has to offer. Of the standout performers, Montréal-based Sinca was one to watch, delivering an uplifting, groovy afternoon set to warm the dancefloor up.

The Peruvian/Canadian producer quickly made a name for herself in 2021 after catching the attention of label industry leaders, Anjunadeep. Her single “Mancora” debuted on Anjunadeep Explorations 19, officially launching her artist career into the spotlight.

Since her entry into music production, Sinca has fine-tuned her signature sound, creating a sonic identity of her own. Her unique style weaves elements of progressive and melodic house into her work, fuelled by rolling basslines and feel-good grooves – imprinting her own auditory identity that channels joy to any dancefloor.

Crowned earlier as one of Dancing Astronaut’s 2024 Artists to Watch, Sinca has blazed into the year with unstoppable force. From releasing music on Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream label, to working alongside UK progressive-house veteran, John Digweed to offer a fresh remix on the near two-decade old “Santiago”, her accomplishments have decorated the first half of the year with finesse, with more to come.

Sinca’s afternoon OSHEAGA set heated up the Coca Cola stage dance floor, where fans were drenched in sunshine, soundtracked with sixty inimitable minutes of pure summer jubilation. Throughout the hour, her ease commanding the stage was manifest through a dose of funky record picks from artists like Natema and Monblaire, peppering in her own original productions including mainstays “Printemps” and “Made Up”, and even dipping into her ID vault to treat her hometown crowd.

For those looking to relive Sinca’s glorious sixty-minute set, it’s available to stream exclusively on Dancing Astronaut’s SoundCloud.
