Producer phenom pluko offers lighthearted summer mixtape, 'CLASS XIX'

Sam Martinsen, better known as pluko, released his CLASS XIX project just in time for summer, coincidentally coinciding with his high school graduation and 19th birthday. The young phenom has already played at Coachella, Hard Summer, and supported ODESZA on tour. His debut album, sixteen, was released on the Seattle duo’s Foreign Family Collective, gaining nods for pluko’s impressive production prowess and musicality.

CLASS XIX was written, produced, mixed, and mastered by the burgeoning virtuoso, airing high-end sprinkles fluttering amid dreamy soundscapes. The project brings a refreshing, unique sound not constrained by cookie cutter arrangements. There are acoustic elements that combine effortlessly with tight electronic backings that curate an atmosphere palatable to a wide variety of music fans.

Pluko’s Twitter mentions he’s “building up a picture of how the body feels,” which anthropomorphizes his work, helping the listener visualize the relaxed recent graduate’s state of mind.
