Rezz and deadmau5 Tease Second Collaboration After “Hypnocurrency”

After the success of their first-ever collaboration, “Hypnocurrency”, released in 2021, Rezz and deadmau5 are working on a follow-up track that promises to be another midtempo masterpiece. The two electronic music producers, who have a close friendship and mentorship, announced on social media that they are hitting the studio this week to produce another song.

Rezz shared a clip of her playing “Hypnocurrency” live on Twitter and tagged deadmau5, saying “It’s time to make another one @deadmau5 see you next week”. deadmau5 replied with a simple “yup” and a smiley face emoji, confirming the news.

“Hypnocurrency” was a highly anticipated collaboration that blended Rezz‘s signature dark and hypnotic sound with deadmau5‘s iconic synths and melodies. The track received rave reviews from fans and critics alike, and was featured on many playlists and radio shows. The song also marked the debut of their joint alias, Rezzmau5, which they will use for their live performances together.

Rezz and deadmau5 are set to perform as Rezzmau5 for the first time at Toronto’s Veld Music Festival in August 2023. Rezz expressed her excitement for the event, saying that she was inspired by deadmau5 when she saw him close the festival when she was 16 years old. She said that performing with him now is “entirely insane & a massive deal to me”.

No further details have been revealed about their second collaboration, but fans can expect another dose of their unique and captivating style. Rezz and deadmau5 are both known for pushing the boundaries of electronic music and creating innovative and immersive experiences for their listeners. Their follow-up track will surely be another hit that showcases their talent and chemistry.
