REZZ signals new EP with smoldering new single, 'Dark Age' – EDM All Day
Canadian spider queen of unearthly mid-tempo, REZZ is ushering in news of a brand new EP with an ominous-as-ever offering, “Dark Age.”
The impending EP, entitled Beyond The Senses, is due July 24, with a number of featured guests on the six-track roster, including repeat sonic accomplice, Deathpact. The multi-track release supersedes her Certain Kind Of Magic LP of 2018 and Mass Manipulation album of the year before, both housed by mau5trap. However, the forthcoming EP will receive an AWAL issue.
“This EP exudes more depth in my songs’ melody and structure,”
REZZ said in a recent release. “It also introduces new types of vocals which I haven’t worked with in the past.”
Beyond The Senses will prove empirically enticing on all cylinders, with each track bringing with it a virtual reality component, hosted through The Wave XR and Strangeloop.
The new low-lit single serves as a cogent harbinger for the EP itself, as it echoes REZZ’s longstanding affinity for witchy fellow Canadian act, Metric, with its haunting guitar interludes and balefully ominous allure. REZZ’s irrefutable charm lies in her ability to oscillate between ostensibly tender synth displays and striking bass, with equally impactful rhythmic arrangements.
REZZ is set to hit the ground running May 18 at EDC Las Vegas with droves of new music in tow. The new EP is available for pre-order through Apple Music, here.
