‘Rinse & Repeat’ vocalist Kah-Lo teams up with Perto for banger
Back from overseas where he has been in the studio with the likes of Timbaland, Billie Eilish and more, Sydney based Perto has teamed up with Nigerian born, NYC based songstress Kah-Lo (of Rinse & Repeat / Fake ID notoriety) for a cheeky track, ‘Bad Maybe Good’.
The story of the song is quite remarkable. On a recent stop over in Sydney, Kah-Lo hit the studio with Perto and finished the song in 2 hours flat. Perto described the studio session in a recent interview with I-D saying;
‘There was just something there that day. We just got along and got it done.’
‘Bad Maybe Good‘ is full bodied and fun with the synths, vocal chops and Kah-Lo’s lyrical flow feeling like they’re connected in an orchestral conversation.
“I wrote ‘Bad Maybe Good’ about when you know a person isn’t exactly right for you, but you go along anyway. I’d say it’s kind of the foundation of most casual relationships, and I wasn’t hearing a lot of songs that acknowledged that. Love that we’re able to put this song out!” – Kah-Lo
With Perto’s production hailing the attention of some pretty fucking big names, it’s been exciting to watch his evolution! You can catch him alongside Diplo, Flume, Cosmo’s Midnight and more at Listen Out across Australia.
