Russell Simmons Sued for $10M by Another Woman for Alleged Rape

Russell Simmons has been hit with another lawsuit from another woman who claims the Def Jam Records founder raped her after meeting him at a rap concert.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, a Jane Doe filed the complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday (March 23). The victim is alleging rape and emotional distress and is seeking at least $10 million in punitive damages.

In her suit, the victim alleges that while with her son at a rap concert she was approached by Simmons and was invited to an afterparty at a hotel. She accepted his invitation, and after dropping her son f with a babysitter, she met Simmons for drinks and go clubbing.

The victim alleges that Simmons told her that he had to pick something up from his hotel room, brought her there and then allegedly sexually assaulted her. According to TMZ, Jane Doe claims that when she tried to fight back, Simmons yelled, "I am going to f— you or I'm going to f— your son. You decide."

"There is at least one witness who saw Jane leaving the hotel room in tears and Jane told several people about the rape at or near the time the assault," the complaint reads. "Therefore, there is substantial independent corroboration the horrific event."

In response to the new lawsuit, Simmons issued the following statement:

Simmons has been accused sexual misconduct by 12 different women, including screenwriter Jenny Lumet, fashion publicist Kelly Cutrone and Insecure actress Amanda Seales. He is also facing a $5 million lawsuit from Jennifer Jarosik, who claims Simmons sexually assaulted her after inviting her to his home in 2016. Plus, he is currently being investigated by the NYPD for two claims.
