Skream and Benga team up for new music in 2022

In the news no one expected, dubstep pioneers Skream and Benga will be back in 2022 and producing new music together.

This will be the first time in near two decades that we’ll be seeing new music from the pair following their last proper release ‘The Judgement’ back in 2003. They did follow this up with a heaving Essential Mix in 2011 but did not feature any new music.

The exciting news landed via a tweet from Skream simply toting the reunion as; “The boys are back in town…. Skream X Benga 2.0….. 2022 we’re having it,”

Those expecting some head-crushing dubstep may or may not be in luck with news this won’t be any ‘throwback’ stuff and more leaning into ‘new music only’. This means we might see more flashes of Skreams recent house and disco offerings!

The twist though is a one-off 140bpm set he’ll be playing during his extended stay in New Zealand due to Covid. He said that he’ll be playing “shit loads of new 140 productions over the lockdown,” that he’s been making so there’s hope yet.

For now, though a brand new Skream mix that features a stack of whompers from Benga, Coki, Breakage, Rusko and Mala. Peep the tracklisting and mix below.
