SOFI TUKKER unfurl 'Purple Hat' visual, showcasing Avant Gardner return – EDM All Day
SOFI TUKKER have released the music video for “Purple Hat,” a smoldering, slow crawling track from the group’s recent EP, DANCING ON THE PEOPLE. The music video for the release was shot at Brooklyn’s Avant Gardner during the group’s homecoming show in fall of 2019.
The video is directed by Charles Todd, who may be recognized from filming the videos for their tracks “Fantasy” and “Swing.” The music video for “Purple Hat” is for the fans and of the fans. It shows concert attendees arriving in their best cheetah print and purple hat gear, intermixed with performance and crowd shots from all around the iconic venue housing.
SOFI TUKKER comments on the video in an official release, saying, “It’s always so special playing back in New York, where everything started for us and we thought it would be the perfect show to film the video at. We didn’t want to get actors and have a fake party to recreate the energy — we wanted to do it in real life with real people, like we do most nights of the year. Really happy to relive that night over and over again.”
