Sparkee's 'Discovery' is a fresh, four-track effort sure to shake up the electronic scene [Stream]

For a fresh take on electronic aesthetics, look no further than Sparkee. The producer’s newly arrived four-track EP, Discovery feels just that: a discovery, namely of a welcome way to re-envision standard dance sound, Sparkee style. Discovery is a sort of sonic grab bag, in that listeners will find elements of hip-hop, jazz, electro, and more interwoven throughout the effort. The EP kicks off with “Want Your Love.”

The opening number is an animated venture into retro, old school sound that flows into the disco inflected Liinks feature, “The Kids.” Sparkee switches up on streamers with “Feelin’ Right,” which–unlike the two preceding inclusions–forays into hip-hop. “Home” provides a laidback finale to the EP, in its use of a mellifluous, lulling beat and understated guitar riffs.
