Spotify offers new ‘tipping’ feature for artists

With the world in an unprecedented pandemic, Spotify’s software engineers have been hard at work creating a new ‘Artist fundraiser’ feature.

The news of this broke as artists around the world struggle due to a total ban on performances in most countries around the world to flatten the curve and minimise COVID-19.

The Artist fundraising feature allows for any musician who has claimed their Spotify artist page, the opportunity to ask their fans or listeners for donations. The feature can be connected to a PayPal or Cash App account. And here’s the thing. Artists can raise funds for themselves, for a smaller guy or a charity or really anyone they want!
