Sydney producer Jerome Blazé shares enchanting brass-driven single “Chame”

Sydney producer Jerome Blazé has joined local label eyegaze and dropped an enchanting, brass driven single dubbed “Chame” featuring the stunning vocals of Jofi.

The track is a return to form following Jerome’s official remix of Universal Music talent Odette from March and his ‘Perspective’ EP mid 2018 that saw winding electronica and percussive live elements bound together for a convincing debut release.

What makes this new one special? Jerome’s current study at The Sydney Conservatorium of Music comes to life with hints of trumpet, trombone, saxophone, clarinet and bass clarinet ascending into a gentle sheet of moving chords throughout – think Tycho, Maribou State, Tourist or Bonobo.

Making this better still is “Chame” took shape during an adventure earlier this year in the Nepalese mountain ranges;

“During the January holidays I went on a hike through the Annapurna range in Nepal. I started Chame before the trip, and found myself developing the song in my head during the quiet, reflective moments of the walk. The idea of the song became tied to those moments of space, and the gradient of the track eventually came to match the contour of the journey in Nepal; constantly spurring forwards and climbing into places that become gradually different from the last.”
