Tangerine Dream has confirmed a special show at London’s The Barbican to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their iconic  ‘Phaedra’ album.

Tangerine Dream has been a seminal influence in electronic music since the release of their groundbreaking album ‘Phaedra’ in 1974, which marked a pivotal moment in the genre. As part of the Berlin School of Electronic Music, their use of synthesizers, sequencers, and unconventional soundscapes has left an indelible mark on both ambient and electronic music scenes. Over the last 50 years, their explorations of sound have influenced not only generations of musicians but also shaped the sonic landscapes of film, television, and art installations.

Their upcoming event at London’s Barbican Center is set to be a celebration of their legacy. The evening promises to blend the past and present, reflecting on Phaedra’s contributions while showcasing how their innovative techniques continue to inspire contemporary artists. Attendees can expect a dynamic audiovisual experience, with live performances that resonate with their ambient textures and evolving rhythms, encapsulating the experimental spirit that has defined Tangerine Dream’s career.

With its location at The Barbican, an iconic London venue known for hosting avant-garde performances, this event is set to be a fitting tribute to Phaedra’s 50-year influence on the electronic music landscape. Fans and newcomers alike will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the evolving soundscapes that continue to push the boundaries of electronic music.
