TESTPILOT Drops First Single in 10 Years “Wet”
Following the release of “Quezacotl” earlier this month, comes another fresh production from deadmau5. This turn he’s offering mau5trap something from his alter ego TESTPILOT (the alias of world-renowned electronic musician Joel Zimmerman aka deadmau5), the epic techno production”Wet.” Now, for his first TESTPILOT studio production since 2014, the chameleon-like studio maven takes us on a journey through slippery twists and turns around dark corners of pulsating synths and four-on-the-floor beats.
In 2013, a presence named TESTPILOT arose out of the shadows. Making a debut unlike any other, TESTPILOT stood alongside Richie Hawtin for his first performance, performing back-to-back with the techno pioneer at SXSW. Though considered a newcomer to the genre, something about his ferocious, sleek sound felt familiar and pleasing to even the most critical of techno fanatics. TESTPILOT’s take on techno has fused the tradition and soul of techno with a razor edge, sharpened by years of comprehensive knowledge and exploration of the music and its tools. His sets are haunting, cosmic, and move at prime velocity, ready for the darkest of warehouses. Now with the arrival of “Wet,” expect the unexpected from TESTPILOT. “Wet” is out now on all mayor streaming platforms.
Look for “Wet” as well as the recent deadmau5 single “Quezacotl” to appear on some ep set for release on July 19.
