The Weeknd returns with new single, ‘Heartless’—his first work since early 2018 – EDM All Day
The Weeknd returns to the content game with “Heartless,” his first output since March 2018’s My Dear Melancholy EP, which featured notable production credits from Gesaffelstein. Before then, his previous work came from his 2016 Starboy. The record’s title track, featuring Daft Punk became his biggest to date, racking up over 1.2 billion streams on Spotify.
In this new offering, the Canadian R&B superstar speaks on his lavish lifestyle of supermodels, drugs, fame, and the temptations and struggles that come with this notoriety which have ultimately left the artist “Heartless.” He continues on, lamenting about his yearning to be fixed by the right person.
The Weeknd has mentioned on Twitter he’s in album mode and also gave a sneak peak to a new single, “Blinding Lights,” in a Mercedes-Benz commercial. It seems the pace is picking up toward his next LP’s arrival.
