There is a new record store opening in Sydney next week
Vinyl junkies, rejoice, Sydney has a lush new record store opening in February.
The Something Else Record Store, the brain child Dave Stuart and Alex Dimitröff, is set to open on February 1st in Newtown, and will be home to a collection new and preloved vinyls, ranging from house, techno and varied selections, as well as DJ and turntable gear such as mixers, needles, headphones etc.

Speaking on the venture, Stuart – who has spent many years throwing techno events – explains it has been a dream his for a long time. “I’ve spent countless hours enjoying digging in stores in Europe and wanted to bring that joy I felt back to Sydney. ”
“After having the idea doing some pop ups / backyard record sales it quickly snowballed and I somehow I managed to convince Alex that’s it’s a good idea to open a physical store…so the two us found a space, brought a stack wax, painted some walls, and then on Thurs 1st Feb will be opening up to the public.”
Be sure to head along from Feb 1st and grab some wax. The address for the store is 488 King Street, Newtown.
