This inner-west music venue just got a sa-weet renovation!
Those who often find themselves out and about on a Friday or Saturday night will be pleasantly surprised if they trot up the familiar stairs at Waywards, above the The Bank Hotel in Newtown, with the venue on the receiving end of a renovation that has increased capacity and installed a neat new sound-system.
There’s a little to take in what’s actually been done with capacity upped to accommodate a health 250 party-heads, the layout has been changed so everyone gets a look in at the stage, it’s now hosting a killer d&b audiotechnik Y-series sound-system for the untz and unsurprisingly, will be hosting some cool parties in the not too distant future.
For starters there will be a launch event this Thursday hosting a bunch of rad bands and not far after, DJ Levin’s notorious ‘Rhythm of the Night’ parties, Sydney/Melbourne 3-piece Retiree and in December Stones Throw Records royalty with Egyptian Lover playing a very intimate soiree.
This really is a huge win for Sydney with yet another venue investing into the future of our nightlife – huzzah!
