UK’s music industry calls on youth to exercise voting rights

This initiative is supported by over 50 industry figures, such as Annie Mac, Bicep, Jessie Ware, Glastonbury, and Ninja Tune.

A united call to action has emerged from the music industry, encouraging the UK’s young population to vote. This initiative is backed by over 50 industry figures, including Annie Mac, Bicep, Jessie Ware, Glastonbury, and Ninja Tune.

This collaborative effort responds to the fact that 6 million young Britons, aged 18 to 34, didn’t vote in the last election. Yet, in 2023, more than 6 million people from this age group attended music festivals, suggesting a generation more involved with music than politics.

The music industry aims to engage young voters in the 2024 elections by initiating conversation and promoting participation. Several artists, record labels, festivals, and venues support this initiative, contributing to this crucial cause.

Supporters include Annie Mac, AVA Festival, Bicep, Block 9, Bricks Magazine, Cross The Tracks, Eats Everything, Emerald, Eliza Rose, Fat Tony, FLY Open Air Festival, Foundation FM, Gideon, HAAi, Jessie Ware, Katy B, Keep Hush, Murkage Dave, Ninja Tune, NVS Music Group, Project 6, Tola Peckham, Threesixzero, The Cause, We Out Here Festival, Wide Awake, and more.
