German techno and electro dilettante Helena Hauff is getting ready to release her highly-anticipated album, Qualm, out August 3 Ninja Tune. Ahead of the release, the label’s shared a new eerie teaser of what listeners can expect on top of a mysterious new 2×12″ white label which seems to bear no relation to Hauff aside from its catalog number, “HH253,” bearing her initials. What is known, however, is the piece that was shared in the video is a staggering, gritty electro work with offbeat rhythms and chaotic synths.
The record is limited to 150 pressings and comes with a 70mm film negative of the Qualm short film. So far, it’s been slipped into Ninja Tune’s own web store and sold at esteemed world-renowned record stops like Phonica, OYE Records, Rough Trade, and Serendeepity.
