Denver-based artist Nick Miller, better known as Illenium, has quickly built a name for himself with his highly emotive tracks that pull on the heartstrings with infectious vocals and powerful synth-stacked breaks. In a little over a year, Illenium’s rise has been nothing short of meteoric. He’s graduated from small capacity rooms and club shows to selling out the country’s top venues like Red Rocks and dominating the national dance festival circuit.
So, it came as no surprise that Denver’s very own Global Dance Festival would be the perfect testing ground for a brand new track titled “Take You Down,” teasing the tune to his hometown crowd. In a video that captured the new track’s debut, Miller starts by admitting the new material is, “a really personal song,” proceeding to queue up a new original work that glimmers with his signature moody guitar and blissful atmospherics. The unreleased track’s emotive appeal strikes in the carefully designed build behind the versework, so that when the break is revealed, one will either be left dancing or crying, or perhaps a little bit of both.
