The Chemical Brothers continue to wow audiences after a wild headline set at this years Glastonbury festival. With the visual experience of their show constantly evolving, it was exciting to see the their latest performance incarnation in the lead up to their Australian tour.
The videos appearing from the festival show off just how far the duo have come since starting way back in 1989, with a spectacular live display filled with boundless lasers, non-stop flow of pounding analog sounds and raw dance inducing bass. A moment that took our breathe away was their timeless classic ‘Hey Boy Hey Girl’, lead by the visuals of an animated fluorescent sunglasses and mouth. The intensity is insatiable as other musical and visual elements are added through out the song for sensory overload.
Check out the romping rendition of ‘Hey Boy, Hey Girl’ below.
Later on the headline performance also featured a tribute to Keith Flint, frontman of seminal electronic act The Prodigy with The Chemical Brothers telling NME they “felt like giving people an opportunity to give him a round of applause, to mark his memory and reflect on the sadness of what happened, and to say thanks.”
The Chemical Brothers will in Australia later this year playing shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne with special guests The Avalanches in DJ mode. Check out the full dates here.
