Whethan gets back to remixing with new flip of Travis Scott and Metro Boomin's 'Overdue'
Less than a month removed from his Jeremih-assisted house number “Let Me Take You,” Whethan is promptly advancing towards his fourth release since January. The 20-year-old producer has a proven track record for working his magic on high-profile releases throughout his young career with his genre-bending approach and he’s aiming to do it once more, stepping up to rework Travis Scott and Metro Boomin’s late 2018 collaboration, “Overdue.”
Withholding a sufficient number of elements from the two rappers’ original output, Whethan provides the track with a well-deserved, polished electronic glamour. As far as expectations from the burgeoning superstar go, Whethan generally keeps listeners on their toes as he continues to experiment with invigorating sounds. One of the highlights of the new remix is Whethan’s elegantly-produced snare over a glitch-coated Travis Scott chorus. With a complete schedule of festival appearances over the coming weeks, the interval between the remix and the producer’s next offering will most likely not be long as Whethan continues to build upon an already impressive 2019 rap sheet.
